Is it bad to join a Frat in college?

Okay in all honesty i am a good student, I got into University of Texas at Arlington as a freshman and i already have 12 credit hours, im already a pharmacy technician as well. I want to become a pharmacist one day. The pharmacy program at Austin interests me and also its a party city so you cant go wrong with that :D so i will be going there hopefully next year then i can work my way into the pharmacy program. But really i have never been much of a nerd or anything, i am a bit shy and its hard to meet people sometimes, well a frat would help me with that i believe. And then the other reason i want to join a frat is because of course i wanna party...lol so is this a bad idea? Is it possible to be successful in college and be in a frat? I mean i want to at least have a little fun. Oh and will it look good on my transcript to Transfer to Austin?
