My friends think im going emo, how can i convince them im not?

i mean yeah, ive been feeling kind of depressed latley, and i wear a litttle bit of darker clothes. they say that im wearing more eyeliner but i dont think i am, and they say i listen to emo music now....do you consider afi and mcr emo? oh yeah, and i used a pen to dig lines on the top of my hand...it just helps me think about something else, its not like im cutting my wrists.
